Transformers Robots In Disguise Mirage: Toy Review

Mirage

One of the great things about the recent Transformers revival is that several nifty toys that I like. One is the Robots In Disguise Mirage. The transformation is simple, and Mirage is excellent in both forms. I especially dig the “Witwicky Sparkplugs” decal on the tail fin.

The only thing that I don’t necessarily like is that the fins on the front detach to form his gun. That piece is just waiting to be lost. I’m still missing the horn/sword for Rhinox, and the guy looks like a giant rat.

The robot design is well done. Transformers tend to be bulky fellas, with thick arms and barreling chests. Mirage is a slim guy. Hell, I’d venture to say that he’s the most metrosexual Autobot ever!

Also, the Mirage mold looks like an excellent form for the Gobot Crasher. So there’s a worthy projcet for some of you more accomplished custom painters!

  1. Mirage rocks! I do agree about the gun/crossbow thing though — plus, it doesn’t fit too well in his hand — pretty easy thing to lose, really.

    Great photos!
