Foywonder’s review of The Last Legion

For those of you who were wondering at the latest “Arthur Set In Roman Times” movie, Foywonder.com has posted a rather involved review on his blog.

THE LAST LEGION

Here’s a excerpt:

And, boy, does this theatrical film have the look and feel of a high-end made-for-TV movie. Probably not too surprising given director Doug Lefler cut his teeth directing episodes of Hercules and Xena, as well as helming the direct-to-video sequel DRAGONHEART: A NEW BEGINNING. The film aspires for grand scale and spectacle, falling well short every step of the way. Sweeping vistas be damned. It’s an epic that never feels epic. Compared to that of GLADIATOR, LORD OF THE RINGS, or even 300, the look and direction of THE LAST LEGION feels positively outdated.
